2018-2019 SFL Round 15 wrap-up
The mid-season transfer window commenced this week.
Friday night lights at the Pro Futsal Centre in Bibra Lake, Western Australia, started with table-topping Stirling Braza Ginga FC defeat a gallant Joondalup ECU Jets 6:2, with captain Pavel Parihuzic scoring a hattrick and Chriss Rocchi scoring twice. That was followed by defending champions Cockburn EWA FC whipping Fremantle FC 10:3, with Alex Gamble and Sergio Coelho both scoring hattricks and captain Mark Gavranic scoring twice. That was Fremantle’s worst defeat in SFL history. The match of the round saw 3rd placed Rockingham Cambio Cumbre FC thump 5th placed Perth Longobarda FC 6:1, with Malaysian International Yazid Omar scoring twice.
Saturday’s matches included the mid-table heavyweight clash between Murdoch Warriors FC and South Perth FC, with Murdoch winning 5:3. Justin Pearce scored twice for Murdoch, whilst Yohann Crampon also scored two goals for South Perth. That was followed by the derby between Perth AFC and Spearwood Lions FC, which saw AFC run away with the match 8:2, with Nathan Thorp starring with 4 goals, well supported by Martyn Sharpe and Andrea Jukic with 2 goals each. The final match of the round saw Curtin Footballista FC cement their position in the top 4 with a comfortable 10:3 victory over newcomers Balga FC. Mason Vojdani starred for the winners with an exceptional 6 goals. Farzam Mehrabi scored twice for Footballista and Darko Mikic scored 2 goals for Balga.
